Dolly Mae Carter, 80 years old of Princeton, Texas, passed away in her home on Monday, December 6, 2021. Dolly was born on April 9, 1941 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She was the second of four children, and she was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation.
Dolly was an amazing, bright, stunning beauty who brought joy to all those who knew her. She was a loving and devoted mother who loved spending time with her family, as well as a talented seamstress and interior designer who loved flowers, gardening, and fishing. On top of all of that, she was quite the fashionista.
Dolly was preceded in death by her father, John Nideffer; mother, Alice Farmer; step-father, Gordon Shamblin; sisters, Maxine Shearheart and Sue Ann White.
She is survived by two children - her son, Martin Miles of Oklahoma and her daughter, Sally Hale of Texas; seven grandchildren - Tiffany Marie Wheeler of Texas, Aleasha Whitaker of Oklahoma, Talon Miles of Oklahoma, Cherylyn Miles of Oklahoma, Martin Amos Miles of Oklahoma, Carter Hale of Texas, and Todd Hale of Washington; one brother, Gordon Shamblin, Jr.; and her beloved dog, Ms. Lady.
A celebration of Dolly's life will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in McKinney, Texas.
