Diane Dawson, age 70 of McKinney, Texas, passed away on August 8, 2023. Diane was born on December 10, 1952, in Valdosta, Georgia and was a life-long resident of McKinney, Texas. She is preceded in death by her father, James Dawson; mother and stepfather, Betty Hamilton Langdon and Charles Langdon; and grandparents, Arthur Earl Hamilton and Lucile Harlow Hamilton.
Diane is survived by her sons, Mac Dickinson and wife, Amber; Jason Collins and wife, Jamie; Phillip Collins and wife, Leah; daughters, Gloria Vest and husband, Eddie; Rene Moloney and husband, Ed; brother, Charles Dawson; sister, Priscilla Brewer; grandchildren: Christopher, Kyle, Cole, Julian, Colton, Hannah, Edmond, Carson, Rooni, Dewayne, and AJ; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Diane loved music and learned to play piano as a child. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. She loved to crochet and especially loved crocheting blankets for grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends expecting babies. Diane had a generous heart. She would always find some crazy or unique gift for those she loved.
Diane loved reading and always aspired to be a writer. She told everyone, “one day I’m gonna write a book!”
Diane was baptized in the Christian faith in 1976, having accepted Jesus as her Savior. Through Christ, she is healed.
Diane was an animal lover. She especially loved dogs and cats, but she loved all animals.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to SPCA of Texas or NAMI.
