Dennis Noel Godsell was born on August 13, 1935, in Webster City, Iowa, to Bud and Dorothy Godsell. He died on November 13, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Dennis was raised in Grand Island, Nebraska, where he attended school and graduated in 1953. In 1955 he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Ellsworth A.F.B., where he was honorably discharged in 1960.
He met his lovely wife, Connie Kegaries, whom at the time was attending college at the University of South Dakota, and they were married on August 20, 1960. They had two children, Mark Godsell of Sachse, Texas, and Lisa Baker of Richardson,Texas.
Soon after marrying he and Connie moved to Denver, Colorado, where he pursued a career in retail merchandising working for large retail chains and advancing his management career. In 1968 the family moved to Ft. Worth from Denver where Dennis continued his retail career with Montgomery Ward. In 1981 Dennis changed his career path and went to work for Chevron Corporation, where he became an Area Manager in the lawn and garden business covering all of northeast Texas, southern Oklahoma, and eastern Louisiana. His experience in lawn and garden carried him into positions with Ortho, Monsanto, Miracle Gro, and Scotts products. In 2001 Dennis retired from Scotts products and redirected his life to his church and his family.
A celebration of his life will be at the First United Methodist Church of Garland on Saturday, 11-17-18, at 10:00am.
