David Kalitta

August 4, 1972 — May 10, 2014

David Kalitta, 41, died at his McKinney home on Saturday, May 10, 2014. He was born August 4, 1972 in Austin, TX to Margie Baker Kalitta and Alan H. Kalitta. He graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1991 and earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2001. He was most recently employed as a Senior Program Manager by Nice Systems, Inc. In 2001, he married Kori M. Williams, and to this union was born the Lights of Their Lives: Emily Reece, 9, and Grayson Stephen, 6.

David is survived by his loving wife Kori; adoring children Emily and Grayson; his beloved mother Margie, his dear friend/brother Stephen and wife Colleen; nephews Brandon and Nathan; sister Leslie Roberts of Austin, TX; aunts and uncles Paula and Bud Powers of Virginia and Joe and Florence Baker of The Colony, TX; parents-in-law Cheryl and David Willis of Lubbock, Tx; and brother-in-law Ryan Willis of Lubbock, TX.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandmother Regina Emily Baker and father Alan Kalitta.

David was, above all things, a devoted family man, as well as a dedicated and conscientious program manager with utmost integrity and decency. He was an avid movie fan, enjoyed cooking and baking, and family movie nights. He loved his Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks and Texas Rangers. But mostly, his weeks were spent anxiously waiting for weekends to cheer on Emily and Grayson at their sporting events. His friends and family are united in the feeling that they all have "lost a hero."

Services will be held Thursday, May 15, at 3:00 p.m. at Stonebridge United Methodist Church (1800 S. Stonebridge Drive in McKinney, TX). Following the funeral there will be a procession to the burial service at Pecan Grove at 1701 S. McDonald Street, McKinney. A trust fund has been established to honor the memory of David and his love for his children. Please make the checks to "Stonebridge United Methodist Church" and in the memo line: "The Kalitta Family Trust."
