David John Dyson

December 19, 1940 — March 9, 2018


David “Dave” Dyson, age 77 of Lauderhill, Florida passed away March 9,2018. He was born in Wellington, New Zealand December 19, 1940 to proud parents Dorothea and Arthur Dyson.


Dave is survived by family who love him dearly. His wife Julia, son Tony and wife Buffie, daughters Sharon and Lisa, and husband Eddie. He has one sister, Caroline and brother-in-law, Jim, nephew Anton and Niece JoAnn that live in Australia. He has one grandson, Chance, two granddaughters; Shawna and husband Carl, Sherry and husband Rex. Dave also has many cherished family members in New Zealand, Australia and Connecticut.


Dave and Julia just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with family in Texas, before Dave passed away.


While living in New Zealand, Dave worked as a mechanical engineer at a large concrete roof tile manufacturing company. His skills were highly regarded, and he was asked to move to the United States to increase production efficiency. As Production Manager, Dave greatly improved the proficiency of the equipment, and cultivated great team coordination that was a successful combination. He improved many productions facilities throughout the United States.


Dave enjoyed fishing, golfing, grilling, carpentry and spending time with family and friends. He was always happy to lend a helping hand, and often assisted family, friends and neighbors with a wide range of projects.


Dave will be deeply missed, and his family is very proud and grateful to have had him in their lives.


A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Charles W. Smith and Sons Chapel in Sachse, TX.
