Darren Andrew Knechtly

July 14, 1989 — March 10, 2018

Darren Andrew Knechtly was born in Garland Texas on July 14, 1989. He graduated from Wylie High School in 2007. After attending college, he decided on a career as a fireman/paramedic. He was always interested in medicine and human anatomy as attested by the posters still on the wall of his old room!

His greatest and most precious treasures were his two daughters Kinley and Charlotte. He doted on them every chance he could and loved them dearly. One of their favorite activities was “smoochies”; it always generated a lot of giggles and laughter. Darren was big brother to Brian and Dylan. He was younger brother to his sister Lauren, who has gone on before him.

Darren was a great artist at even a young age and was always making some kind of craft. He had broad interests in the latest techno gadgets. He vastly enjoyed hunting and fishing; he was the hunter gatherer of the family (fried squirrel!). Darren had a tender heart and was a passionate friend to many.

He is survived by his daughters Kinley and Charlotte of Little Elm. His parents, Denny and Teri Knechtly and brothers Brian and Dylan Knechtly of Wylie Texas. Grand parents Terri Hudak of Macedonia Ohio, Anna Mae Knechtly of Mt. Gilead Ohio, Bill Hudak of Garland Texas and nephew Dayton Hensley of Garland Texas. He was preceded in death by his sister Lauren Hensley of Wylie Texas.
