Raised in East Texas by his parents, Amma and Jesse Oliver Parnell.
Dan worked for the Dallas Morning News as a printer for over 30 years. Dan was a founder and manager of the Dallas News Employees Federal Credit Union for over 30 years.
He was married to Kittie Lanford for over 55 years.
Dan loved to make golf clubs and played golf regularly after his retirement. Dan enjoyed working around the house, woodworking, and watch repair.
Dan will be remembered for being a loving husband and dad, being a proud Democrat, Boy Scout volunteer, finding bargains, especially at Harbor Freight.
Dan is survived by his wife, Kittie Parnell and sons David Parnell and Gary Parnell and his wife, Marci Parnell, and granddaughter Lillie Parnell; and his dog " "his pal" Mollie.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in his name to the charity of your choice.
Services 9:15 a.m. Wednesday November 21,2012 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane B.
