Dale Brogdon

Dorman Dale Brogdon, 78, of Sachse, TX, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 after a short struggle with COVID-19.

Dale was born on December 25, 1941 in Cartwright, TX to Dan and Nadyne (Scoggin) Brogdon. He graduated from Quitman High School in 1960 and then received a degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX in 1963. He served in the US Army from 1963-1966 at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. On July 16, 1965 he married Penelope (Penny) Pope. They had one daughter, Kelly, and two grandchildren, Alayna and Travis.

Dale and Penny lived in Garland, TX and later moved to Sachse, TX. Dale worked in retail management for Goodyear Tire & Rubber for 33 years. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Sachse, and was a frequent patron at the Sachse Community Center. His hobbies included working in his yard and collecting antique clocks.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Nadyne Brogdon. He is survived by his wife Penny Brogdon of Sachse, TX; daughter Kelly (Brogdon) Knochenmus and her husband Dave of Murphy, TX; grandchildren Alayna Wright and Travis Wright, both of Lubbock, TX; his sister Glenda Beavers of Longview, TX; and his brother Gayle Brogdon and wife Myrna of Los Fresnos, TX.

Due to the pandemic, the family plans to postpone a memorial service until after it is safe to gather and celebrate Dale's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Sachse.
