Cynthia Frances Jones Neahr

Cynthia Flores Neahr was born on December 2, 1943 in Los Nietos, California and rose to the heavens on November 29, 2019 in McKinney, TX. Born to Floyd and Gertrude Flores in Los Nietos, CA, she was raised in the Latin culture, was the middle child, the only girl and she grew up in Norwalk, a suburb of Los Angeles. Her father was an Army medic in WWII and from him she inherited the life-long love of four-letter words.

After graduating from Pioneer High School in 1961, Cynthia went to cosmetology school and became a hairdresser. Unfortunately after a couple of years she had to quit because she had feet flatter than Fred Flinstone's.

Cynthia stood at just 4'11" tall, but was larger than life, with a mighty personality and a giant heart. A bit sweet, a bit prickly, with a lot of spice and sass. She rarely held back her opinion and had very few filters. This led to times that could embarrass her children while in public, particularly when they were in high school. (However it never stopped and continued throughout the years.) Whenever it did happen, Kimberly and Ryan would walk away and pretend that they didn't know who she was.

One of Cindy's great loves was music and she passed that onto her children Kimberly and Ryan (who have also done the same with their children). Their lullabies were sung by The Doors, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and more. Speaking of The Doors, Cindy's all-time favorite song was Light My Fire. It was a running joke between her and Kimberly that when she died she was going to finally have her fire lit. (Since she long made her wishes known that she was to be cremated and "not left in the ground for the bugs to eat.")

Cynthia was a prolific reader from an early age, had a wicked sense of humor, liked solving difficult crossword puzzles, enjoyed thrift store shopping, socializing with her friends and collecting artwork by Latin artists.

Cynthia is survived by her daughter Kimberly "Bella" Ayers, her son Ryan Flores Neahr, her grandchildren Anthony (25), Zoe (19), Micah-Vance (18), Zane (15), and also her first great-grandchild Luna, born in August, that unfortunately, she wasn't able to meet. She also leaves behind her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
