Clarence Edward "Ed" Parker died on February 17, 2013 at his home in McKinney, Texas with his dog, Cricket, by his side.

Born on May 21, 1928 in Anson, Texas to David Leland Parker and Nona Fleeta Cox. Mr. Parker was a proud Texan, a Baylor University graduate and a lifelong teacher. Renowned for his entertaining delivery of world characters like Napoleon, Churchill and Henry VIII, students clamored to sign up for his history classes. His firestorm personality and clever way with word-smithing poetry added to Mr. Parker's colorful legacy. After teaching in Alvin, Texas and serving as the assistant superintendent in Duncanville, Texas, he retired to enjoy his favorite pastimes: golfing, fishing, hunting and conquering crossword puzzles.

Mr. Parker is survived by two brothers, David (and wife Eddie), Paul (and wife Sue), his wife, Shirley Parker and her three children (Mark, David, Jeff), daughter Deborah Mundwiler (and her husband Dwight), daughter Danna Jo "Jet" Parker, his son, Mark Parker (his wife Susan), two grandchildren, Tamara Allen and Amy Johnson as well as seven great-grandchildren: Andrew, Rachael, Leah, Michael, Parker, Ryan and Courtney.

His memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of McKinney, Texas (315 North Main Street) on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, Shirley requests you please make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Hospice; his children request you make a donation to Lost Paws Rescue of Texas at (http://www.lostpawsrescueoftexas.org).
