Chuong H. Duong, age 83 of Murphy, Texas, passed away on December 25, 2017 in Murphy. He was born on October 3, 1935 in the town of Kim Lang, Quang-Tri Province, Viet Nam to Duong N. Tuy and Ho thi Kieu. He worked for the South Viet Nam government during the Vietnam conflict.
In 1975 Chuong and his family came to the United States after thewar was over in Viet Nam, with the help of his American Army Adviser . Thefamilysettled to Bernice, a small town in northern part of Louisiana,under the sponsorship of Dr. and Mrs. Roberts Borders. Chuong remained and worked there as a rancher for over 35 years until he retired and came to Murphy, Texasin 2007to be closer to his children.
Chuong led a wonderful life with his wife of 58 years, Hong Nguyen. He is survived by his wife, Hong; three sons; Duc Duong, Quang Duong, and Trung Duong; two daughters, Thien Caoand Thuy Miles; 14 Grandchildren; Anthony, Stephen,Vincent, Katherine,Andrew, Chad, Nathan,Robert, Matthew, Juliana, Angelina, Olivia, Ellie, and Arin.
Visitation will be Friday, December 29, 2017, from12:00PM to 8:00PM at the Charles Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, TX.
A Celebration Servicefor Chuong will commence at 8:00 AM Saturday, December30th at the Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Garland.
