Christopher Paul Warhurst, a senior director of systems engineering and Aggie, passed away on Wednesday, October 21st, 2020 at the age of 52. Chris was born in Ft Worth, TX on July 26th,1968. He graduated from Western Hills High School in Fort Worth and received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M in College Station.
Chris was the father of three children: Ashley Marquez, Caleb Warhurst, and Grace Warhurst, who were the lights of his life. One of his greatest joys was being their father. He is survived by his children and their mother, Denise Tyler; his sister, Cynthia Ellis; and his son-in-law, Jesus Marquez.
Chris enjoyed travelling, watching a great movie with his family, going on outdoor adventures, taking trips to the beach, watching college football, and finding pride through his children's accomplishments. He loved people and would seek a conversation with anyone. Chris worked at MCI, Fore Systems, Mahi Networks, Redback Networks, Cyan Systems, and most recently Ciena Corporation. He was dedicated and passionate about his work and cared deeply for all of his past and present colleagues. Some of his best friendships came from his work relationships.
Chris was known by his faith in God. Not only believing in Jesus as his personal savior, but also serving God through mission trips and teaching His Word through jail ministry. His firm belief in God supported him in his journey and ultimately gave him peace in his final days.
