Chloe Catherine Treanor

In memory of our loyal, loving and cherished mother. Born in St Edward, Nebraska to Harlan Ordway Nelson and Hazel Catherine Burke Nelson, and sister to Tim Burke Nelson; her Danish grandparents homesteaded in South Dakota in the late 1800s. She was born of true pioneer stock.
Chloe graduated in the Class of 1952 from San Leandro High in San Leandro, California. Chloe was a professional Registered Nurse having graduated from Highland School of Nursing in Oakland, California in 1955.
On June 18, 1955, in San Leandro, California, she married Forrest Lee Treanor, Jr. Chloe and Forrest were sealed for time and all eternity in the LDS Los Angeles, California Temple on August 29, 1959.
Forrest preceded her in death on May 28, 1987 in Littleton, Colorado.
Chloe was known by friends and family for her friendly, giving nature and her beautiful soprano voice.
Later in life, Chloe was "adopted" by friends as an honorary member of the DUPs (Daughters of the Utah Pioneers).
After retiring from nursing, Chloe served an honorable mission to the Navajo Nation for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There she gained an appreciation for the Native American people and culture while using her nursing skills to train young women in the discipline of nursing, so they could improve themselves, give more opportunities to their families, and serve in their communities.
Chloe is survived by her pride and joy; her seven children and their spouses- David H and Tracy D Treanor, Catherine A and Mark Knutson, Christine O and Gerald Jensen, Tim D and Tammy Treanor, Todd L Treanor, Traci N and John Peterson, and Chersty M and Drue Titensor. She was blessed with 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Her favorite scripture is found in 3 John 1:4 - I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
There will be a Memorial Service for Chloe in McKinney, Texas on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 7PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2801 Eldorado Pkwy, McKinney, TX 75070. The family is working with Charles W Smith & Sons Funeral Home located at 601 S Tennessee St., McKinney, TX 75096 - (972) 562-7788.
A second "family" Memorial Service will be held in Littleton, Colorado on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 9:30AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 6705 S Webster St, Littleton, CO 80123. In Colorado, the family is working with Horan & McConaty located at 5303 E County Line Rd., Centennial, CO 80122 - (303) 221-0030.
