Chester Ellis Anderson (1932-2014) went to be with his Lord on 13 January 2014, departing from his residence in Mesquite, Texas. Chester and his wife, Eva, were residents of Lakeview, Michigan for 49 years, beginning in 1960 before moving closer to their children in Texas in 2009.
Chester, known to his friends as "Chet," was born and raised on a farm in Nebraska before entering the Coast Guard in 1952. After his honorable discharge in 1954, he began working with Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, an employment that would continue until his retirement 38 years later.
Chet met his wife, Eva, in Greenville, Michigan, and they were married in 1958. They raised three children in Lakeview - Vic, Ruth, and Dave - all graduates of Lakeview High School.
Chet and Eva were always active in local churches, having served in numerous capacities at Lakeview Baptist Church, Langston Bible Church, and First Baptist of Howard City. Once they moved to Mesquite, they served at Centerpoint Church in Mesquite.
Chet is survived by his wife (Eva), three children and their spouses: Vic and Cindy of Mesquite, TX; Ruth and Greg Heller of Deer Park, WA; and Dave and DeeAnn Anderson of Magnolia, TX. Chet was grandfather to eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A private burial ceremony is planned for DFW National cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Chet's life at a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th. The service will be held at Centerpoint Church, 1355 E. Kearney, Mesquite, TX, 75149.
