Cheryl Beth Elliott was born on December 12, 1961 to Daniel Walter and Sandra Kay (Wadsock) Elliott in Ponca City, Oklahoma. A few months later they moved to Garland, Texas where Cheryl would grow up. On September 5, 1987, Cheryl Beth married Cledith Odell Smith Jr. (Buddy). Together, they raised two daughters: Cyndi and Brittany.
In early 2000, Cheryl went to work for the Wylie Fire department as the Administrative Secretary where she remained for 20 years. Cheryl loved her co-workers, her job, her family, and her animals. However, it was her granddaughter, Danika, that was the center of Cheryl's world, just as 'Grandma' was the center of Danika's world.
It is with profound sadness that we announce her peaceful passing on August 30th, at the age of 58. She was known for her infectious smile, joyful laugh, and her kind and compassionate spirit. Cheryl gave of self unselfishly, always putting everyone else's needs ahead of her own. She lived life to the fullest, and will be greatly missed.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Dan. She is survived by her mother, Sandra, her husband Buddy, their daughters Brittany & Cyndi, son-in-law, David, and four grandchildren: Garrett, Lindsey, Katy, and Danika.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 2020 at the Lone Star Cowboy Church at 543 FM 6, Nevada, TX at 10am.
