Charlotte Ann Helm

Charlotte Ann Helm, 85, of Wylie, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2025.

Ann was born July 24, 1939, to Dick Cathy Morrison and Anna Mae Frost-Morrison in Brownfield, Texas. She graduated from Seminole, Texas High School in 1957.

She was known for her warmth, generosity, laughter, and the loving spirit she brought into the world.

After graduation, she attended Abilene Christian College (now Abilene Christian University) in Abilene, Texas, where she studied Physical Education. While shopping at a record store in Abilene, she ran into Jim Helm, and the rest is history! They married on September 3, 1960, in Abilene and were married for 64 years. Jim and Ann raised two children and were active in the Wylie Church of Christ for over 50 years. 

Ann was a Poet, a Realtor, a Painter, a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Kindergarten teacher, and a Secretary at the Wylie High School, along with owning a home cleaning business. She also was a sales representative with her sister-in-law, Bobby Jo Helm, at Safeway Systems, which was owned by her brother-in-law Bob Helm, and they traveled Texas together, creating many stories to tell. Ann enjoyed walking 5 miles in the morning for several years, and she loved walking on the beach in Texas at Padre Island on family vacations. She was a big supporter of the Wylie Pirates (AHMO) football teams that both her sons played on and an active member of the Quarterback Club that supported the program.

Ann had a special bond with her cousins who had grown up with her in West Texas, and they remained as brothers and sisters for their entire lives. Their laughter and love for each other filled the air, which has lasted a lifetime. 

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Dick Cathy Morrison and Anna Mae Frost, her oldest brother Dick Morrison, her grandson Colin Helm and her beloved sister-in-law Bobby Jo Helm. 

She is survived by her husband, Jim Helm of Wylie, Texas, brother Spencer Dunlap and wife Brenda of Midland, Texas, two sons: Mike Helm of Plano, Texas, and Mark Helm of Wylie, Texas, and her grandchildren: Kaden Helm, Claire Helm, Mark Helm, Alexa Helm, and Alana Helm.
