Charles David Snitzer

Charles David "Charlie" Snitzer, passed away on May 1, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. He was born to Joseph Albert and Isabelle Baker Snitzer in Baltimore, Maryland on January 29, 1934. Charles grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where he attended Marist High School. He received a BBA from Emory University and a MBA from Georgia State University. He was a captain in the Air Force, then a CPA in both Georgia and Texas. Job opportunities brought his family and him to Richardson, Texas in 1972. Charles loved sports and was a great basketball and baseball player earlier in life. Later, he won many trophies in tennis at Canyon Creek Country Club with his wicked lefty serve. He was an avid bridge player.
Family life was his highest priority. Charles was deeply devoted to his beloved wife of 51 years, Kay, who preceded him in death in 2009. He is survived by his sons David and wife Brenda, John and wife Lori; daughters Stephanie Weeks and her husband Todd, and Lucia Snitzer. He loved watching his six grandchildren grow up. They are Ryan and Nathan Snitzer, Garron, Hannah and Jake Weeks and Kailey Snitzer. He will also be deeply missed by his brother, Joe and his wife Liz along with many extended family and friends.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013, at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Community, 110 St. Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Charles W. Smith & Sons, McKinney.
