Age 63, passed from this life October 22, 2010 at his home in Garland, Texas with his family by his side.
Charles was born November 8, 1946 in Malta, Bowie County, Texas to D.L and Lorene (Sewell) Hanson. He had worked 32 years for Western Electric which became AT&T and now Lucent Electronics. Charles loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting and mostly enjoyed his children and grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his wife of 20 years, Retha (Hawbaker) Hanson, children; Terri Farmer and husband Jim, Deborah Arendle, Gwen, Paul Thorson and wife Misty and Richard Hanson and Chasity, eleven grandchildren, brothers and sisters; Lou Ann Rainey, Judy Martin, Richard Brower, Jan Rodgers, Kay Neff, Ann Jackson, Alice Goldie, Mike Bigham and Tommy Beasley. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmy Ray.
VISITATION will be 5 " 7 P.M. Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the funeral home.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be 12 Noon Monday October 24, 2010 at Charles W Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Sachse Chapel.
