Charles "Chuck" Jim Esralian, age 97 of McKinney, Texas, passed away on January 17, 2022. He was born on November 23, 1924 in New York City, New York to Harry and Mary (Tatigian) Esralian. Charles was a resident of McKinney since 1975 and worked as a Committee Man for General Motors (GMC) for thirty years. He served in WWII in the US Army and was a member of the Chambersville Methodist Church.
Charles was married to Sarah Whit Esralian (Loftice) for 59 years. They were married July 12, 1945 in McKinney, Texas. They met during WWII in 1943 at an Army Hospital in McKinney. He and Sarah lived in Pontiac, Michigan for thirty years, during which time, they had three sons, Charles Whit Esralian, Michael Jim Esralian, and Gary Paul Esralian.
In his retirement years, Charles enjoyed playing the drums in a country western band called "Mary & The Good Ol' Boys". He was a member of the band for twelve years. The band consisted of Mary Hughes (singer), Bobby Charles on keyboard, Ronnie Tackett on guitar, Wilbur and Nancy Marshall (singer and guitar), Kathy Abner (singer), Gary Esralian on guitar, and Charles Esralian on drums. Also, they had at various times, Jerry and Sharon Smith (singer and guitar) and Jimmy Taylor of Princeton on guitar. They played for several retirement centers and establishments in the North Texas area. They played every week for many years at the Hinton Home in Farmersville, Texas. They were also regulars for HealthSouth Plano Rehabilitation Hospital in Plano, Texas for 9 years. This is where Sarah Esralian received her dialysis treatments. Charles had a kind heart for places such as these, and they usually played for free or for a minimal fee.
Charles is survived by two sons, Michael Jim Esralian and wife, Shirley Charlene Esralian of Aloha, Oregon and Gary Paul Esralian of McKinney, Texas; daughter-in-law, Charlene Joyce Esralian of Clarkston, Michigan; three grandchildren, Carol Ann Esralian, Sarah Frances Esralian, and John Whit Esralian; three great-grandchildren, Alec Whit Esralian, Emily Ruth Esralian, and Linsie Joyce Esralian.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Whit Esralian on August 10, 2004 and his oldest son, Charles Whit Esralian on November 05, 2021.
