Cecilia Trevino Oakley

Cecilia Treviño Oakley, 72, of Fate, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, after a sudden illness. She was born September 25, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, to Eliodora and Reyes Treviño. On February 19, 1971, Cecilia married Royce Oakley, and they had two amazing children Sara Leonard, born November 19, 1976, and David Oakley, born December 28, 1981. After Royce's passing in 1998, Cecilia married William Sutton on June 5, 2010.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents Reyes and Eliodora Treviño, as well as husbands Royce Oakley and William Sutton. She is survived by her sister Maria (Tim) Marcon and brother Ray (Teena) Treviño; two children Sara (Kyle) Leonard and David (Samantha) Oakley; stepson Robert (Melissa) Sutton; grandchildren Payton, Marissa, Luke, Eli, Taylor, Sadie, and Stephen; and beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Cecilia graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1968. She went on to work for the City of Dallas and the City of Garland. She was known for her charm, quick wit, friendly smile, and flare for the dramatic. Cecilia loved to travel and bring family and friends together for reunions and holidays. She was a natural born leader who was deeply devoted to her family. At the end of her life, she expressed gratitude for life-long friendships, especially with Patricia Ratliff.

A funeral service is scheduled for noon on July 21, 2022, at the Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home at 2925 Fifth Street in Sachse. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service begins at noon.
