Devoted Christian who loved the Lord and His sacrifice, wife, mother, caregiver and US Army Veteran.
Mrs. Catherine "Katie" Moses passed away July 13, 2022. Katie was born in 1946 in Weymouth, Massachusetts to John A. Glynn Sr. and Pauline Healey. Katie had a deep love for Cape Cod and always spoke of her love of the Cape and the ocean.
In 1966 Katie joined the US Army serving at Fort McLennan, Alabama; Chicago, Illinois and Washington DC working in US Army Intelligence.
In January 1968 she married Dan Moses, who was a US Marine she was serving with in Washington DC and remained married for 54 years through thick, thin, sickness and health.
She was the mother of two children Sean Moses and Rachel Moses.
Katie was a massive social butterfly who could speak with anyone she met and show them Christ's love. Lobster was Katie's favorite food and she would not turn a bite down if given the chance. She had a deep love for horses, loved reading, putting puzzles together and cooking. Katie became a self taught cake decorator and became so good that she was asked to do countless wedding cakes. Yet her love of people would only allow her to charge them for the supplies only. She is also known for a huge collection of Squishmallows even to the point of being called the "Squish Queen" by her own fan club online.
But Katie's greatest love was of Christ after accepting Him as Savior. Katie also loved teaching her Sunday School class and her friends she had in it. She would decorate her classroom throughout the year and cooked a crazy amount of food each Sunday for them. One of her biggest losses was being unable to teach anymore due to her health.
Katie is survived by her husband Retired Pastor Dan Moses. Her son Sean Moses and wife Rhonda and daughter Rachel Moses. Two grandchildren Laura Moses and Matthew Moses. Her sister Patricia Olson and brothers John Glynn Jr. and Phillip Glynn and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Pauline & John Glynn Sr, her sister Mary L. Mick and late brother Charles Glynn.
Katie will be remembered for her love of Christ. The undying love and sacrifice she gave her family. Her crazy love of really bad dad jokes and her laughter.
Services will be held at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas on Tuesday July 19 at 10am with visitation Tuesday July 19 from 9am-10am. Burial will be Wednesday July 20 at the DFW National Cemetery for Veterans for family only. In lieu of flowers Katie asked for donations to Colby's Crew Rescue for horses at: https://colbyscrewrescue.org/
