Carolyn Dean Webb

Carolyn Webb of Lucas, Texas passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2019 at the age of 74, surrounded by family.

Carolyn was born December 9, 1944 in Amory, Mississippi to Woody Earl Riley and Ethel Riley. The only sister of four siblings, she grew up in Mesquite, Texas and graduated from Mesquite High School. On June 14, 1963 she married David Webb and they enjoyed 56 long years of a loving and devoted marriage together.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Woody Earl Riley; mother Ethel Cunningham; step-father Herb Cunningham; and brothers Johnnie (J.C.) Riley and Robert Riley. She is survived by her husband David; daughter Rhonda and son-in-law Brad; son Tim and daughter-in-law Cyndy; brother Herbert Riley; her grandchildren Victoria (Tori), Zachary (Zach), Courtney, and Erica; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Her life's passion was her selfless devotion to her marriage and family. Whether sitting at home around the table or packing for another road trip adventure out West and beyond with David, her children or grandchildren, or boarding a plane to some far off destination or white sandy beach, as long as she was surrounded by family Carolyn was in her happy place and right at home. She enjoyed music, traveling, home projects, shopping adventures with her daughter and daughter-in-law, her grandchildren, and chit-chats over coffee and cookies, among many other things. Professionally she spent many years as a secretary then a real estate broker. But most importantly she was an absolutely devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister as these were her treasured roles. Hers was a gentle, peaceful, and loving spirit like no other. Selfless love that knew no anger or condemnation. A beacon of love and light, that bright and Morning Star. She will be incredibly missed and always loved, but forever with us and a part of us and we of her. Heart, soul, and spirit. Eternally.

Family visitation will be held November 22nd from 6 to 8 pm at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home, 2925 Fifth St., Sachse, TX 75048.

Funeral services will be held November 23rd at 2:00 pm at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home, 2925 Fifth St., Sachse, TX 75048.
