Carol Jean Kent 64, of McKinney, Texas passed peacefully from this earth on February 7, 2014 at her home in McKinney. Mrs. Kent was born November 11, 1949 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to parents Carl C. George Sr. and Pearl George. She worked in the funeral industry as a pre-need sales person for Security National Life Insurance. She enjoyed scrap-booking, antiquing, and decorating.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Kent; daughter, Kelli Nelson; son in law, Kent Nelson; grandson Connor Nelson; parents, Carl and Pearl George, all of McKinney, Texas; sisters, Sharon Morgan of Joplin Missouri, Vicki and her husband Roy Dickson, of Houston, Texas, Judy and her husband Mark Bishop, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brothers, Carl George and his wife Mary, of Hot Springs Arkansas, Tim George and his wife Kathy, of Hot Springs Arkansas, Tommy George of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Joe George of Azle, Texas. She was preceded in death by her brother in law Ray Mahaffey Jr., and brother in law Denny Morgan.
A visitation will be held on Sunday February 9, 2014 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm with funeral services following at 3:00 pm at Charles Smith & Sons Funeral Home located at 601 S. Tennessee St. in McKinney, Texas with Pastor Garland Beasley presiding.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Charles Smith & Sons Funeral Home in McKinney, Texas to help cover funeral expenses.
