Carol Ann Craft was born on March 2, 1942 in McKinney, Texas. She went peacefully to her eternal home with Jesus her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2024. As a small child she lived in Blue Grove, Texas in a three room home and loved running free and exploring with her dog, Penny. The family was expecting a baby, her sister Linda, and they moved to Oak Cliff and then settled in Richardson, Texas. She graduated from Richardson High School and attended college at TWU in Denton, Texas earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physical Education. She began her teaching career at Orchard Farms, MO and then in Graham, Texas before returning to Richardson ISD. During her summer breaks she was a camp counselor at Camp Nakanawa and taught tennis. She then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana earning another Master’s Degree from The University of Southern Mississippi in Library Science. She worked as a Librarian at Our Lady of Holy Cross and finished her career at Delgado Community College. She retired in 2011 and moved back to Texas with the people and place that she dearly loved.
She enjoyed retirement to the fullest. Attending Bible studies, Woman’s Shabbat Group, served on the Women of Purpose Leadership Team and served in her church. She loved learning about Israel and was able to travel there twice. She traveled many other places with family and friends which brought her so much joy. She always said “if it’s not fun, I’m not doing it.” She loved praying for her family, friends and those she met and witnessing God change their lives. She was an avid reader, curious learner, collector of books and loved watching football especially her New Orleans Saints. She loved animals, crocheting, writing and playing music by ear on her organ. She loved Jesus, the Holy Spirit and loved life and all those she got to share it with.
She was preceded in passing by her father Don Lee Craft and her mother Mattie Lee (Miller) Craft.
Survived by her sister, Linda Joyce Craft Evans and her husband Royce Evans, her nephew Joe Bridges and Niece Sally Bridges Roman, Nephew Michael and Wife Gloria Evans, and Niece Christy and Husband Michael Mosier and extended family including numerous cousins and friends.
Pastor Owen Wallace will be officiating service at Melissa Christian Church Monday, December 30, 2024 at 2:00pm with burial following at the Melissa Cemetery.
