Carol Luverne Cabak, 76, of McKinney, Texas, beloved wife and mother, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013. Carol was born in Crookston, Minnesota to Lawrence and Alpha (Peck) Grommesh. She attended Cathedral Grade School, where she displayed her musical ability in playing the piano and the church organ. When she was in seventh grade, her family relocated to a farm near Hinckley, Minnesota, where, again, she was a participant in many of the activities of Hinckley High School. There, she met Richard Cabak, who pursued her until she finally agreed to date him. She and Dick started their family and then moved to Toronto (Mississauga) Canada, where Dick established his business. Carol was an extraordinary person in the ordinary roles of wife and mother. She was always supportive of her husband in his work and her children in their many activities. The family moved several times ; most recently to McKinney, Texas. Carol, always proud of her family, showed her love in many different ways. The family was her life, which was sadly ended by cancer on July 29, 2013. Mourning her are her husband of 55 years, Dick, her four sons; Kevin , James , Terrence (Sue) and Richard. Daughter, Karen, preceded her in death. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Joy Christensen, and brothers, Richard, Michael (Judy)Robert (Cindy) and Gerald (Anita) Grommesh, along with nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 601 S. Tennessee St. McKinney, Texas 75069. There will be a funeral on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 El Dorado Pkwy. Frisco, Texas 75034.
