Carmelita V. Cava, formerly of Glendale Heights, Illinois, died peacefully in her daughter's home on Thursday, December 21, 2017. She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Cava immigrated to America in the fall of 1970 and quickly acclimated to the American culture. She was an executive secretary for Sears Roebuck and Company, Chicago, Illinois and had the opportunity to work at the Sears Tower. She returned to college, a second time, and earned her nursing degree. Mrs. Cava worked at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois, in Behavioral Health and retired when she was in her early 60's. She then took on the role of doting Grandmother or "Lola" and helped care for her five grandchildren.
Mrs. Cava is survived by her husband of 50 years, Carlos. T. Cava, her daughter Carmencita V. Cava and her husband Bohdan Pywowarczuk, her son Michael V. Cava and his wife Virna Esteban Cava. Mrs. Cava has five grandchildren who will help continue her legacy.
Mrs. Cava's wake will be on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 1700-2000.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Wylie Texas at 1030 the following morning, Saturday, January 6, 2018.
Burial will immediately follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Lavon, Texas
