Carl Francis Brooks

February 20, 1934 — August 24, 2020

Carl Brooks, 86, was born to parents W.T. and Helen Brooks, on February 20, 1934, in Hugo, Oklahoma. He passed away peacefully on August 24, 2020. He graduated from Hugo High School and served in the United States Army. He worked for Praxair Industrial Gases for 47 years.

Carl was a loyal Praxair employee and really loved his job. When Carl was not at work he enjoyed spending his weekends working his cattle farm in Hugo, Oklahoma. Paw Paw had nicknames for his children and grandkids and after retirement, he enjoyed spending time with them.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Jean Andrews; brothers Bob Brooks, Don Brooks, and Roy Brooks; and daughter Carla Jane Brooks.

Carl is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane Brooks; daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Mark McGaughey; daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Kyle Kemp; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Brian and Katy Young, and Paw Paw's first great grandbaby on the way; granddaughter Katelynn; and twin grandsons, Brooks and Banks. Carl was a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw. He always took care of us and our needs.

Those special memories of you
will always bring a smile
if only i could have you back
just for a while
Then we could sit and talk again
just like we used to do
You always meant so very much
and always will do too
The fact that you're no longer here
will always cause me pain
but you're forever in my heart
until we meet again
