Carelynne Johnson

March 10, 1948 — February 13, 2022

Carelynne "CJ" Price Johnson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 10, 1948. She passed away peacefully in her home and surrounded by her loving family going on to glory and meeting her Lord and Savior on February 13, 2022. She was the first-born child of the late Floyd Price and Ruth Fairchild Price. She was the sister of Floyd Price, Jr.

CJ graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1966. She attended Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, where she became an illustrious member of the Gamma Iota chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She graduated from Hampton University in 1970 with a degree in Chemistry. She then went on to attend pharmacy school at University of Maryland, Downtown Baltimore. She graduated with a degree in science pharmacy in 1976. CJ worked as a pharmacist for over 45 years including many years as a Pharmacist in Charge.

She met the love of her life, Gregory H. Johnson, in 1972 and after a 6-month whirlwind romance married him (no, she was not pregnant) and 48 years later he is still and will always be the greatest love of her life.

CJ enjoyed and cherished being a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and good friend. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, exercising, praising and worshipping God, ball room dancing with her husband and lived life to the fullest each and every day. She served her Lord and Savior faithfully in church as a leader, prayer warrior, marriage mentor and prophet.

CJ was the beloved mother of Tiffany Michelle Johnson and Gregory H. Johnson, Jr., mother-in-law to Regency Elan Johnson and the grandmother or better known as "Mimi" to Genesis Serenity Johnson (11), Navi Michelle Johnson (5) and Exodus Finis Johnson (2). She was also known as a giving and supportive friend to many.

She will be greatly missed; however, the family is comforted by the fact that she is now with her Lord & Savior in heaven with a fully restored mind and body, and they know that they will see her again. This service will be a Homegoing Celebration.

The family wishes to express their gratitude and thankfulness for all the kindness, comfort and support shown to them during the loss of their loved one.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Association in her name.
