Bronwyn LaSeanne Avery, 46, of Victoria, TX passed away June 22, 2018 at Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston (TX). Bronwyn was born September 7, 1971 in Victoria, to James Drane and Nancy Avery Drane. She was the oldest of her siblings. At a young age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Church of Christ. Bronwyn attended schools in McKinney ISD and Victoria ISD, graduating from Victoria Stroman High School in 1990.
She will be remembered for many talents, including a beautiful singing voice and creative writing. Bronwyn was a devoted fan of the actress Judy Garland. She was notoriously affectionate for all things Hello Kitty and the Wizard of Oz, collecting a variety of dolls, jewelry, books and movies related to them.
Early in life, Bronwyn endured many physical illnesses, Sjogren's syndrome, severe allergies, asthma, and partial blindness. As an adult, she developed diabetes and also suffered a stroke. Despite these hardships, she determined to achieve independence, and personal fulfillment by sharing happiness with others.
Spending time with friends and family was her joy. Many of her cousins, nieces and nephews have indelible memories of the bed time stories, lullabies, and youthful games that Bronwyn would play. She was a compassionate friend, often comforting those in need of a kind word and loving advice. She was also faithful to social media, where she generously shared ideas on everything from politics and self-help, to children's and women's rights. Her empathy, humor and straight-talk attitude will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: mother Nancy Avery Drane (Dallas, TX); sisters Nikki Robinson (Navasota, TX) and Empress Drane (McKinney, TX); brothers David Drane (wife Melissa), Glenn Drane, and Ralph Bollin, all of McKinney, TX; and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father James Drane, brother Kerry Lennard Drane, and maternal grandmother Vertis Lee.
A ceremony to honor the life and memory of Bronwyn Avery will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in McKinney, TX. Visitation will be 12-1pm, with funeral service immediately following. Attendees are invited to wear the colors pink and black.
