Brinlee Layne Farris passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, April 3, 2025 in a tragic auto accident. Brinlee was 18 years old, the daughter of John Farris, Jr. and Kayla Farris born on August 22, 2006. Brinlee was a senior at Wylie East High School where her teachers described her as a bright light, full of life, who lived life in the moment and to the fullest. She was a natural teacher. She made everyone laugh, while simultaneously sharing her own laughter - which you could pick out from across the room. Following graduation, Brinlee planned to attend Bible College and become a Christian Counselor.
Brinlee worked as a caregiver to Remy, a three year old with a rare syndrome. While most knew Brinlee to be full of energy and spark and downright craziness, Remy's parents got to see her quiet side. She was amazingly patient and loving with Remy, paying attention to the smallest of details. She had a special way with children, and often found her way to caring for the most vulnerable of them. Brinlee will always be remembered by Remy's family for her unmatched love and dedication.
Brinlee was an active member of Victory Life Church in Corinth, Texas where she served in many areas. She was a vibrant and creative soul who used her talents to serve on the church media team where she brought light, joy, and inspiration to so many. Brinlee was also a huge part of the VLC youth group. Despite not having an official leadership role, her impact on the group was HUGE as she had a special gift for bringing the group together in unity. She made sure she was involved in every aspect, the first to jump in when anything was needed or planned. She was most definitely a spiritual leader among her peers.
Brinlee was fearless and overflowing with life. It radiated from every fiber of her being. She never met a stranger, and everyone she met left with a story to tell. She loved her family, her church, and her friends fiercely. She was vibrant in every way, and her laughter was in a class of its own. You never doubted where she stood on anything. She loved serving in her church, she thrived on leading others, and she held a special place in her heart for helping those with disabilities.
Brinlee never walked; she marched. She was never quiet; even her whisper was loud. Brinlee had more determination in her than imaginable, and she never backed down from a challenge. She was a beautiful mess of laughter and stubbornness and heart. Brinlee was proud to be a "skirt girl." She was so busy chasing life that she lost everything, always, but she never lost sight of where she was headed. She left this life chasing after Jesus, and heaven is most likely a lot louder and brighter than it was before.
Brinlee is survived by her parents, John and Kayla Farris of Wylie, TX; three sisters, Katelyn Farris, Avery Farris and Riley Farris of Wylie, TX; 2 brothers, Ashton Farris and Keagan Farris of Wylie; Grandparents John Farris (Beckie) of Bonham, TX., Toby Bowman (Mike) of Bonham, TX and Aaron and Beverly Brian of Bonham, TX; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. We love you twenty minutes, Bee.
Pallbearers will be Ashton Farris, Michael Brian, Caleb Susunaga, Dylan Weatheread, Wesley Sigsbee, Dave Holden, Brandon Barnum, and Caden Farris.
