Bobby Wayne Ballard

Bobby Wayne Ballard, a loving family man, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at his home in Mesquite, Texas. He was 83 years young. Born October 14, 1934 to Garland and Gladys Ballard in Tulip, Texas where he grew up. After moving to Dallas in 1952, he met Patricia Jean Roebuck. They were married on October 12, 1956. Shortly afterwards he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served our country. Together, they raised two children. Bobby retired from Texas Utilities Electric Company after 40 years of service. He and Pat traveled throughout the United States, Europe, and the South Seas. Bobby was raised in Dallas Masonic Lodge #760 as a Master Mason; and, in 1987 he earned the 32nd Degree in the Dallas Scottish Rite. In 2015, he was honored with a 55-year Membership Certificate by the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Jean Roebuck Ballard, his son David Wayne Ballard of Mesquite, Texas and his daughter Pamela Michele Ballard and her life partner Nalani Keltz of Garland, Texas. He is also survived by his best friend of 81 years and brother-in-law, Harold Ray Jones and his wife, Barbara Ann Roebuck Jones, their daughter and her husband, Melody Ann and James Lawrence Heatherley all of Ferris, Texas. In lieu of flowers or honoraria, the family request that donations be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children of Dallas (2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, TX 75219). Graveside Masonic and Military services will be held at Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery at 10:00 am on Tuesday January 30, 2018.
