On July 5, 2022, Blanche Addison LaFon went to be with her Lord. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and her last desire was to be with Him.
Blanche was born at home in Laclede County, Missouri on June 27,1927. She was the youngest of eleven children born to John and Fannie Addison. Soon after graduating high school at midterm at 16 and the passing of her mother, she moved to Dallas, Texas to be with her three older sisters. While living in Dallas in 1947, she met her husband of 49 and a half years, J.W. LaFon. They moved from Dallas to Houston where she began her long career with Humble Oil Company, which later became Exxon Mobil. She was trained in key punch, which was new, and later moved into accounting. She had a special ability for working with numbers. Even in her nineties, her recall for numbers was still keen. Following retirement, Blanche and J.W. moved to Sherman, Texas to be close to family. In 2020 She moved to Weatherford, Texas to be close to family again.
Blanche loved her siblings and remained close to them until their passing. She loved family reunions on the old family place and recalling childhood memories. These were cherished memories in her later life.
From the very early days of her marriage, she always had at least one dog. She had a very soft place for abandoned dogs and at one time had taken in five along with several cats. Her rescued and beloved dog Molly was her constant companion in her later years.
She loved to travel. She and her husband took trips to many parts of the United States, but their favorite place to visit was the west. After her husband passed, she took bus excursions all over the United States and into Canada.
She is survived by and loved by many nieces and nephews.
