Blaine Francis Leist passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the age of 70. He was born on February 12, 1951 to Bruce and Patricia Leist in Phoenix, Arizona. He studied communications and journalism at New Mexico State University and later took several MBA classes at SMU. Blaine married Nelda Good Tucker on October 13, 2002.
Blaine's work experience was quite extensive. He began his career as a production manager and on-air radio personality for KRLD and KAFM Radio. He worked closely with the traffic department to ensure the accuracy of FCC records and won Best Public Service and Best Commercial Awards from these companies. His career later focused on marketing and management, and he worked at several companies including Southland Corporation, Arthur Andersen and later retired from Fossil, Inc. after being there for approximately 16 years as their Print Production Manager.
Blaine loved spending time with his family and friends. He also took pleasure in just hanging out on the couch with his dogs in his lap. Blaine enjoyed doing anything outdoors whether it was building a fence for a friend or neighbor or doing yard work. His happiest was when he and Nelda were on his motorcycle exploring new adventures. They took many road trips, but his favorite was probably the one to Pike's Peak.
Although Blaine loved all of his family, his true treasure was his wife, Nelda. To see the way he looked at her was to know the depth of his love. He often said how grateful he was for having her in his life. Blaine and Nelda met in 2000, and were blessed to be married for almost 19 years.
Blaine was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Nelda Leist of Allen, step-daughter Angela Biron of Dallas, step-son David Good and wife, Melissa of Flower Mound, step-son Damon Good of Allen, brother Brian Leist and wife, Michele of Albuquerque, New Mexico and brother Blair Leist and wife, Margie of Durango, Colorado.
He was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Nicole Good, Caleb Good, Allison Good, Malia Good, Clayton Good and Simon Good.
