Bishara Majeed Kawar was 82 years old and called by our Heavenly Father on August 8, 2022. He was born August 15, 1939 to his loving parents, Majeed and Salma Kawar. He grew up in Jordan in a Christian house that was devoted to the Lord. He graduated from Chelsea College of Automobile Engineering in London, England in 1962. He then joined the Jordan Armed Forces in the armored brigade as a 2nd lieutenant. He was promoted to a field workshop commander after 6 years in the army. He was accepted to Lawrence Institute of Technology in Michigan in 1978 where he earned his Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. He served and fought for his country until he retired after 28 years as a General and commander of the Armored Rebuild Facility.
He married Haifa Kawar on May 15, 1973 in Amman, Jordan. Together they raised 4 children. Bishara designed his architectural house in Amman where he practiced his passion of gardening. He enjoyed planting trees, flowers and taking care of his garden until the end of his life.
Bishara moved his family to Dallas, TX in 1998 and lived there until he passed away. He attended the Arabic Baptist Church led by his brother Pastor Samir. He enjoyed reading, watching football and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. He visited many places including Russia, Africa and Europe for work and pleasure. However, he most enjoyed road trips with scenic routes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Haifa Kawar. He was a devoted and loving father to Luma, and her husband, Zaid Naber; Majeed and his wife, Paige; Suhad and her husband Remon Fino; and Jumana and her late husband, Charles Khoury. Five grandchildren, Razan, Raed, Abe, Maya and Tia.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 beginning at the Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Chapel in Sachse. The family will begin receiving guests at 9:00 am. The memorial service will follow at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. The burial will be held the same afternoon, 12:00 PM at The Sachse Cemetery.
