Billy Ray Self, 83, of Leonard, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2015 in Plano, Texas.
Graveside services only (no visitation) will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015, at Wilson Chapel Cemetery, Lowry's Crossing (SE of McKinney). Rev. Eric Hartman of Providence Church of Plano, Texas will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Charles W. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
Billy was born in McKinney, Texas on August 29, 1931, and attended McKinney schools. He was a dedicated hard worker at various manufacturing companies in the Dallas area.
Billy is survived by his 12 nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Billy is preceded in death by his parents (Eliga E. and Ora E. Self), three brothers (Edward, J.E., and Thomas Self).
The family of Billy Self wishes to thank Collinwood Nursing Home of Plano and New Century Hospice of Dallas for their care and services. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to Mrs. Jennifer Askenazi for her many kindnesses and devotion to Billy over the last two years, and also to Ms. Vicki Sterling for displays of caring and friendship to Billy and his family.
