Billy Joe Samples, age 81, of Wylie, Texas, passed away at his home in Wylie on June 10, 2015. He was born on December 15, 1933 in Lone Oak, Texas to James Albert and Ruby Lee (Callahan) Samples.
Joe was the owner of Samples Concrete in Garland, Texas for 32 years. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Sachse where he also served as deacon. Joe was a member of the Garland Lions Club and the Garland Chamber of Commerce.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, LaVerne Samples; and his sister, Helen Peacock.
Joe is survived by his three sons, Ronnie Samples and his wife, Maggie, Glenn Samples and his wife, Gladys and Gary Samples and his wife, Vicki; his daughter, Kathy Bedard and her husband, Terry; five grandchildren, Shawna Hughes, Lyle Samples and his wife, Breanne, Wade Bedard, Rachel Bedard, and Valorie Samples; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, J.A. Samples and his wife, Mabel, Buddy Samples and his wife, Karoll and Kenneth Samples and his wife, Dreama; and numerous other family members.
