Billy Ray Guinn went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2020 at the age of 85. He was born in Ben Wheeler, Texas on October 22, 1935. He was one of three children born to JC and Gracie Guinn.
He is survived by his loving wife, Earline Guinn, son Dennis Guinn and his wife Diana Guinn, son Jerry Guinn and his wife Dorothy Guinn, daughter Joyce VanDertuin and her husband Randy VanDertuin, sister Mary Grace Powell, brother in law Troy Powell and his wife Peggy Powell, brother in law Steve Powell and his wife Kathy Powell, sister in law Jackie Powell, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a number of extended family members who loved him dearly.
He proudly served his Country as a Navy Veteran and was honorably discharged. He met the love of his life, Earline Powell and made her his wife on December 9, 1958. They were blessed to have 62 wonderful years together.
After his military service he went to work for Texas Instruments until the day he was able to retire. Once retired he was able to devote full time to serving the Lord. He was a Gideon member. He devoted himself to the church, where he served as not only a member, but a Deacon, board member, teacher and leader throughout his life, in both First A/G Lavon and New Horizons A/G in Grand Saline.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and a living witness and example to everyone he would meet.
He was never one to complain and always served happily and willingly. He was full of love and happiness. He was the truest example of having a servant's heart.
Although he will be truly missed by his family and friends, we all bask in the knowledge that he has received the ultimate gift by going home to be with God.
