Billy Ray Cave

September 28, 1924 — March 16, 2018

Billy Ray Cave was born in Princeton, Texas on September 28th, 1924. Bill attended Princeton schools and graduated from Princeton High School class of 1942 where he played quarterback for the Panthers in 6-man football and was President of his Senior class. Bill then enlisted in the U.S. Naval Air Force at the age of 18 and served in WWII as a belly gunner in a B-24 bomber. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1945, he attended Sam Houston State Teachers College and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. For a short period of time he taught Agriculture at Plano High School. He attended SMU law school before making a career change into the insurance business where he worked for over 50 years. He loved the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico. His favorite pastimes were taking care of his beautiful yard, trips to his cabin in New Mexico and eating out with family and friends at the only 3 restaurants worth eating at: Olive Garden, El Fenix and Burger King. Most of all he loved being Daddy to his children, which he did a wonderful job of. He was a faithful member of the Princeton Church of Christ for almost 60 years.





Preceded in death by his parents Clarence Shelton (Butch) Cave and Grace Minerva Glass Cave, sister D’etta Marie Waldlow, sister, Sarah Laverne Cave and son Bruce Ray Cave. Bill is survived by his wife Georgia Lee Cave, sister Kathryn Lucille Adcock and children son Billy Shelton Cave, daughter Grace Velin Sadler and husband Randy, daughter Margaret Charlyne Futrell and husband Scott, son Frankie Ray Cave, son, Danny Clarence Cave and wife Kimberly. Grandchildren Shawn Cave, Justin Cave,Jason Cave, Monty Sadler, Clint Sadler, Brandi Wilson, Sheli Guinn, Levi McMahan, Kathryn Ives, Heath Cave, Heather Cave, Garrett Cave, and Cierra Cave





Many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
