Billie Dean Lange

Dean was born in Taylor, TX. on December 31, 1935 to Pheba Katherine and Edgar Adolf lange. He grew up in central Texas in the farming community of Bartlett. He died on August 7, 2019 in Garland, TX.

Graduated from Bartlett High School where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. He earned a college scholarship for being a left handed pitcher. He attended some college, never graduating. Served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960.

Moved to Dallas in 1961 and started working at Texas Instruments. Later worked for Varo in the semiconductor industry. In 1977 he became self employed and managed his own rental properties.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann, one son Michael and grandson Matthew and wife Sara, brother Bruce Lange of Bartlett, brother-in-law L.W. Shepperd and wife Karen of Harlingen. Also sister-in-law Bonnie Shepperd of Frisco. Nephew Jeff Shepperd and wife Sue Ann, Nieces Brenda Shepperd of Quinland, and Donna Wade, several great nieces and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents Pheba and Edgar "Slim" Lange, two daughters Leisa Ann and Julie Gail.

Dean was a member of Calvary Baptist Church 1962-1978. Then at Woodhaven/Arapaho Road until 2014. Then he was blessed with a new church home, which he loved, at First Baptist in Garland. While at Woodhaven / Arapaho Road he worked with children, mostly aged 3-5. He found his love working with the children.

Memorial Service will be Monday August 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Chapel in Garland, Texas.
