Beulah Picket, 92, of Rockwall, TX passed away July 2, 2017. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Joseph Franklin and Fayola (Lutz) Ewing. She met W. Harry Pickett at the Valencia Gardens and were married on Sept. 22, 1945. She was a Switchboard Operator at Essex Wire, Secretarial Worker at Lincoln Life Ins. Co. and Materials Handling Equipment Co.; and a Homemaker.


During her lifetime she was a member of First-Wayne Methodist Church, Fort Wayne; Yuma Methodist Church, Yuma, AZ. and the Plano Methodist Church, Plano, TX.


Her favorite things were dancing, reading, playing cards and games with family and friends and making new friends.


She worked tirelessly serving the needs of others in the name of the Lord. She was a member of the International Order of the King’s Daughters & Sons since 1959. She served as Vice President of the Indiana Branch and Board Member for 12 consecutive years, with 6 of those years as the Junior Camp Director and the remaining years as Chairperson for the Student Grant Scholarship Committee, North American Indian Committee, and the Around the World Committee. In Fort Wayne she was a Member of the Semper Amicae King’s Daughters Circle serving as Past President, and chairperson on various philanthropic committees.


Her husband, Harry, to whom she was married 65 years, preceded her in death in 2010. In their retirement years, she and Harry enjoyed traveling, visiting National Parks and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. With children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren scattered around the country, they visited many of these United States and the Caribbean. Her little ones were the joy of her life, never seeing them often enough.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph (Frank) and Fayola Ewing, brothers, Ernest Ewing, Orval Ewing, Donald Ewing and Clifford Ewing and 2 sisters, Verna David and Delores Hockman.


She is survived by her brother, Joseph (Evelyn) Ewing, Louisville, KY, 2 daughters, Dianne (Gary) Knight, Angola, IN; Lonna (Stephen) Buckner, Rockwall, TX; and a son, Timothy Pickett, Arlington, TX.; 5 grandchildren, Eric (Kim) Knight, Jennifer (Russell) Richeson, Jason (Angie) Buckner, Joshua (Marita) Buckner, and Cory Pickett; and 12 great-grandchildren.
