Beulah was born on November 24, 1936, to Gus and Mable Ahrens in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She lived in Kingfisher during her childhood with her older brothers, Phil and Everett, and her younger sister, Peggy. In the 1940s, the family moved to Texas to the Rio Grande Valley where they continued farming work. Beulah attended Sharyland High School in Mission, Texas, and graduated as salutatorian in 1955. She met the love of her life, Robert Dicus, through a mutual friend. They were married on March 8, 1956, exactly one year from their first date. The year of 1958 found Beulah on her first plane ride traveling to join her husband, Robert, who had enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany. Here they lived for the next few years before returning to Texas to the Rio Grande Valley. In 1964, they started their family with the birth of their daughter, Bobbie Louise. They later welcomed another daughter, Brenda Mae, and a son, Bruce Edward. While starting out with little, as their lives together progressed, they were able to enjoy the things they loved, including traveling the world. The young family lived in the Valley until 1978 when they moved to the Hill Country area to New Braunfels, Texas. Beulah was active in her community through her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, as well as the New Braunfels German Folk Dancers and the Wurstfest Association with her husband, Robert. In 2009, Beulah and Robert moved to McKinney, Texas to be near their granddaughters. Beulah went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 19, 2024.
She was a loving wife, wonderful homemaker, amazing mother, fantastic Oma, accomplished seamstress, avid reader and much, much more. Her happy spirit, loving kindness and generosity will live on through her family and those whose lives she touched.
Beulah is survived by her husband, Robert E. Dicus; her daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie Louise Brown and Michael Brown; her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Mae McKinnie and Shain McKinnie; and her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Edward Dicus and Irene Renee Dicus.
