Bernard Nelson Wood, Jr.

Bernard “Bernie” Nelson Wood, Jr. peacefully passed away on March 31, 2024. He was born to Rita Louise Kelley & Bernard Nelson Wood, Sr. in Dallas, Texas on April 2, 1952.

Bernie was preceded in death by his loving wife Cheryl “Pete” Wood, Mother Rita Louise Kelley, Father Bernard Nelson Wood Sr., and his sisters; Rita and Mary Jo.       

Bernie attended Jesuit High School and W.T. White where he made many life-long friends. He was an accomplished and highly respected truck driver for over 30 years. He provided for his family and made many friends along the road. After retirement, he became a pillar of the community which he loved so dearly. So much so, that he was known as the “Mayor” of Copeville.

Bernie will forever be loved and remembered by his three sons; Cody Bernard, Cade Charles, and Max Sullivan. He is forever remembered by his Siblings; Don, Kay, Pat, Linda, and Marc. He left a profound impact on everyone, many of whom looked to him as a fatherly figure.
