Benjamin Franklin Cowling, Jr. 58, of Westminster, Texas, passed away on November 19, 2013 in McKinney, Texas. He was born September 17, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas to Benjamin F. and Zelda Thacker Cowling. He was an electrician in the maintenance department. He served his country in the U. S. Army. Mr. Cowling is survived by: Wife: Cindy Cowling of Westminster, Texas; Daughters: Crista Cowling of Allen, Texas, Monica Cowling and son-in-law Stephen Stratton and grandchild, Regan Stratton of Whitewright, Texas; Brother: James Cowling of Van Alstyne, Texas; Niece: Jana Cowling of Sherman, Texas; Nephews: Randy Cowling and wife Becky and Jason Cowling. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ben Cowling, Sr. and Zelda Thacker Cowling. A special thank you to a dear friend like a brother, Johnny Gillard that stood beside him till the end. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in McKinney, Texas. Rev. Glenn Murphy will officiate.
