Bedford Gene Webb, 84, of Mesquite, Texas passed into the Lord’s presence on July 16, 2012 in Dallas, Texas. He was born February 6, 1928 in Monette, Arkansas to Norris Webb and Benita Rainey Webb. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Neighbors; and sister, Virginia Wolfe.
Gene was a graduate of Monette High School and earned a J.D. from the University of Arkansas in 1955. He practiced law in many roles over the years including private practice, assistant prosecuting attorney, staff attorney for the Arkansas State Highway Department and staff attorney for American States Insurance. Gene was an avid reader and enjoyed Bible study and history.
An Army veteran, Gene is survived by his wife, Betty Webb; daughter, Toni Webb Ruble and her daughters Erinn and Elizabeth; daughter Lynn Webb; stepson Michael Simpson, his wife Teresa and their four children, Brianna, Colin, Taylor and Riley; stepson Richard Simpson and his wife Sally; and several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
There will be no public visitation. A private internment will take place at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 21, at Redeemer Bible Church, 721 Easton Road, Dallas Texas 75218. Pastor Kent Barnard will officiate. The family requests that memorials are directed to Redeemer Bible Church.
