Born April 17, 1926 in Durant, Oklahoma to parents Carl Crogan Lilley and Delilah Elizabeth Jackson Lilley.
He lived in Durant during his early years and after his schooling he served in the US Army.
Barnett has been a resident of Garland Texas area for 40 years and lived in Durant, Oklahoma 15years befor returning to the Garland area in 2005. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 39 years as a Switchman.
He married his lovely wife Fayna Arnella Jackson on October 2, 1948 and they were faithful members of Orchard Hills Baptist Church in Garland, Texas and Fairview Church in Durant, oklahoma.
Barnett leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Fayna of Garland, TX, son, Gerald W Lilley and his wife Linda of Sachse, Texas, daughters, Gloria Lilley Herrick and her husband Scott of Amarillo, Texas and Gail Lilley Zawacki of Westport, Connecticut, grand children; Brian Lilley, Jason Herrick, David Herrick, Jonathan Lilley, Lauren Lilley, Amber Herbert, Brittany Lilley, Ana Zawacki and David Lilley and four great grandchildren, brother, Boyd Lilley of Houston, Texas.
He is preceded in death by parents, Carl and Delilah Lilley, grandson, Eric Jackson Lilley, sister Vella Adams and brothers; Durwood, Maurice, Hubert and Gene Lilley.
Visitation will 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Charles W Smith & Sons Sachse Chapel, 2925 Fifth St., Sachse, Texs 75048, 972-414-5050.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Woodcreek Church, 3400 Renner Road, Richardson, Texas 75082.
Barnett will go home to Durant, Oklahoma to be laid to rest in a family plot in Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Commital time to be announced.
