Barbara Lynn Deal Whiteley
Came into this world April 27, 1931 and went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2017.
Lynn was born in Waco, TX to Beulah and Marshall Deal. She had two brothers, Marshall Jr. and Douglas. She spent her early years in Houston. After high school, she moved back to Waco where she met and married her husband, Bill. They were married in 1949. She was the “girl next door.” They had 3 daughters and one son.
In 1959, they moved to Midland where they raised their family and lived for many years. Lynn worked for Drilco in the early 70’s as a key-punch supervisor and was instrumental in organizing innovative key-punch procedures for the company. Later she worked at Adobe Oil & Gas as a supervisor in the data processing department for a number of years.
Lynn was a skilled seamstress, master chef and avid Texas Rangers fan. She loved people, and her spirit of hospitality was unrivaled. Lynn took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nothing brought her more joy than listening to their laughter. She will be greatly missed.
Her brothers and parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill, of 68 years; her daughter, Debbie Bruno and husband, Randy of Fredricksburg, TX; daughter, Angie Pearce of Plano, TX; son, Dan Whiteley and wife, Jonie of Eden, TX; daughter, Cindy Friedrichs and husband, Jimmy of Midland, TX. Grandson, Evan Bruno and wife, Meme of Frisco, TX; grandson, Weston Bruno and wife, Jordan of Midland, TX; grandson, Jason Pearce of Garland, TX; granddaughter, LynnAnn Duniven and husband, Will of Sweetwater, TX; granddaughter, Nicole Licari of Midland, TX; granddaughter, Tiffany Redwine of McKinney, TX; grandson, Dillan Friedrichs of Irving, TX; and 8 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Grace Hospice of Plano, Texas, for their excellent care of Lynn. In particular, they would like to thank Aquanette, Julia, Florence, E.J., Terry, Andrea, Tasha and Chaplain Pam.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home at 601 S. Tennessee Street in McKinney, Texas, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Jimmy Friedrichs and Will Duniven officiating.
A reception for friends of the family will be held at the Whiteley home, 2504 White Owl Drive, McKinney, Texas, immediately following the service until 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Grace Hospice of Plano, Texas, c/o Grace Hospice Foundation, 4100 International Plaza #140, Ft. Worth, TX 76109, or the charity of your choice.
