Barbara May Mannewitz

Barbara May Mannewitz, 73, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 in Richardson, Texas. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 5, 1941 to her parents, Lemuel and Doris Lord. Barbara is survived by her husband, Tom; her children John Mannewitz and his wife Rachel, Martha Constant and her husband Todd and Michael Mannewitz; her granddaughter Rebekah Constant and her sisters, Jean Lord and Mary Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Jeremy Constant. Barbara enjoyed a love for all animals. She had a special love for horses. She enjoyed being a part of LIFE classes at Sewell Elementary School by working with the draft horses. Barbara was a published author. She wrote a book about her family history called "Bury Thy Brother". She also loved spending time with her family. The family will receive friends at a visitation to take place Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048. The funeral service will be Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following at Sachse Cemetery.
