Avis Marie Dillon

Avis Marie (Wall) Dillon was born December 30th, 1942 in San Augustine, TX.

After a short illness Marie went to be with our Lord April 20th, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents Warren and Lera Wall.

Marie is survived by her husband of 53 years Douglas B. Dillon; son Scott Dillon and his wife Nan and their two daughters Madison and Avery; daughter Paula Hansen and her husband Greg and their three sons Ryan, Josh, and Nick; sisters Juanita May, Wilma Perry, Opal Martin, and Frances Russell; brothers Fred Wall, Tom Wall, Murray Wall, and Keith Wall; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Marie moved to Dallas, TX in 1961 and was married to Doug in 1963. They lived in Dallas, Richardson, and currently Murphy, TX. She was employed by Paramount Pictures Corporation and Taylor Publishing Company, but the majority of her marriage she enjoyed being a Christian homemaker for her husband and two children.

Marie especially enjoyed Bible study, cooking, sewing, and was an avid gardener. Her life can best be exemplified by two entries in a recent journal she prepared prior to her passing: "Doug knew I only wanted to be a wife, mother, and mi-mi. God has always been our guide. God has blessed us greatly. To God be all the glory." "The most important thing to me is God, my family, and my friends. Without them I would not have been able to make it this far. Let everyone know how much I love them."

A visitation service for Marie will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 25th at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 2925 Fifth Street, Sachse, TX 75848 / 972-414-5050.

A celebration service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 26th at First Baptist Church of Wylie, 100 N. First Street, Wylie, TX 75098 / 972-442-2261.
