Artie Inez Douglas passed away at home, in Spring, Texas, on October 6, 2018. She was born January 24, 1931, in Collin County, Texas, to James and Alpha (Schane) Cody.

Artie married Lewis Douglas on February 8, 1947 in Durant, Oklahoma. They made their home in Collin County, and raised their two children, Fred and Freda. Artie held multiple jobs, through the years,other than full-time mom. She and Lewis helped build their home church, Northwest Christian on Bradley Street in McKinney.

In her retired years Artie loved to keep her family going strong, she and Lewis enjoyed seniors activities, and she also loved a good card game and her dominos.
Artie is survived by children; Fred Douglas, Freda Douglas (Ed) Turner, Trisha Graham, Eddie Angel, Grandchildren; Jim Helm III, John Helm, Jason Helm, Ewa Helm, Jason Phillips, Amy (Dustin) Allgood, Melissa Skillern, Scott Turner, Samantha Blair (Sidney), Eddie (Jenny) Turner as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings; Bessie (Charles) Glasscock and Doug (Marie) Cody.

Artie is preceded by husband; Lewis Douglas, parents; James and Alpha Cody, daughter-in-law; Harlynn Douglas, and siblings; Bill, Bob, Bertie, Polly, Nell, Mary, and Ellen.
