Arthur Volney Morrison

Arthur "Art" Volney Morrison III, age 78, passed away February 29, 2016 in Wylie, TX. Arthur was a lifelong resident of Garland, TX. He graduated from Garland High School in 1955 and was married to Carol Taylor on May 15, 1959 in Garland, TX. Arthur worked for the United States Postal Service for 28 years and served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garland and a past member of Garland Evening Lions Club. Arthur is survived by his daughter, Beth Schara and husband, Monte; mother, Doris Morrison Walkup; grandson, Mason Schara; two granddaughters, Katie Patteson and Shelley Schara; three great grandchildren, Connor, Hunter and Whitley; two sisters, Dorcas Wynne and husband, O.R. and Meredith Smith and husband, D.A. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Carol Morrison, on June 17, 2009 and his father, A.V. Morrison Jr.A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Charles W. Smith and Son’s Funeral Home Chapel in Sachse, Texas.
